Privacy
Last updated October 19, 2026. Couchgem is a free beta.
The short version
We only keep what we need to make your picks better. We don't sell your data, and there are no ads.
If you don't sign in
Your services, lists, ratings, quiz answers and what you open or linger on are saved only in your browser. They never leave your device, and clearing your browser data removes them.
If you sign in
We store your email address (to send sign-in links), your services and country, and your watchlist and ratings, so they work on all your devices. This is kept in our database provider, Supabase.
Anonymous usage counts
To learn what works, we count steps like "finished setup", "took the quiz" or "tapped Watch on…", tied to a random ID stored in your browser, not to your name or email. We also use Vercel Web Analytics for anonymous page-view counts, which doesn't use cookies.
Services we use
- TMDB: movie and show details, posters, and where-to-watch data (powered by JustWatch).
- OMDb and IMDb's public ratings: scores. Wikidata: links that open titles in each app.
- Supabase: accounts and saved lists. Vercel: hosting and page-view counts.
When you tap "Watch on…", you leave Couchgem for that service, and its own privacy policy applies.
Your choices
- Settings → Forget my activity clears everything learned from your clicks and hovers.
- Settings → Clear my lists and ratings deletes your lists (including from your account if you're signed in).
- To delete your account entirely, contact us (below) and we'll remove it.
Kids
Couchgem isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
